Most people starting online overlook one critical step. That is, they need to get started with e-mail marketing right from the beginning. Why? Ask yourself how else would you be able to stay in touch with your visitors and prospects?Understand that when used effectively, e-mail marketing lets you ‘grow and retain’ your prospects and realize their lifetime value as a customer. But don’t let your e-mail campaign get boring. Use these simple tips to maintain your audience.Always Use Creative Subject Lines – Your subject line is like a title. Write your message first and then write the subject line. Be sure that your subject line entices your subscriber to open the message. One sure fire way to do that is to appeal to your subscriber’s curiosity. Write your subject line so that it ‘refers’ to what’s in the message. As an example, create titles like “Did you know this about _____?” Creating curiosity will continue to entice your subscriber to open your message.Create your Brand – People remember ‘brands’. They even learn to trust brands. If you don’t think so, just ask somebody to switch brands. They will give you a hundred reasons why their brand is better. So when you become a ‘brand’, you create a value that you can’t put a price on.Be Consistent – Regardless if you mail weekly, daily or on whatever ‘schedule’ you determine, be sure to be consistent. Although I hate to use the term ‘train’, being consistent does start to ‘train’ your subscriber so that they begin to actually ‘expect’ your messages.Educate. Educate Educate – Probably the single most important thing that everyone overlooks or they figure that they are ‘giving away the farm’! I disagree. Educate your subscriber showing and proving that you are the ‘go-to’ person, without a doubt.Get personal – Write as if you’re talking to one person. Let your subscribers get to know, trust and like you. You can do that by briefly sharing your own personal experiences as you continue to educate them.Add Value with Downloads – Sending your list a link to download a pdf file or other information from your website has a higher perceived value than if you just stuff all that information into your newsletter.Use Testimonials – Share some of your testimonials and show your subscribers how you’ve helped others. Testimonials are the best ‘social proof’ that you can have and your subscribers will easily relate to how you or your product helped others. When used properly, your e-mail marketing campaign will become the best, most valued asset of your website and online marketing efforts. Don’t let it get sloppy and boring. Use these tips to keep your messages fresh and wanted. Your subscribers will respond with their wallets.Live, Love and Profit from your Passion; Otherwise it’s just another job!
